The Sabbath School is an institution (church) of learning, sharing, fellowship and to demonstrate an understanding of how spiritual learning supersedes an accumulation of factual information. As the heart pumps blood through the body thereby sustaining life, so the Sabbath school must be the lifeline of the Church. It is therefore essential that the Sabbath school be a bible-base, faith-base and fellowship-base institution.
The Aim of the Sabbath School is to fellowship, evangelize, and spiritual growth.
The Motto is each one bring one, going farther—reaching more.
Our Goal is to increase the number of people participating in Sabbath School program as a result will increase interest and attendance.
The Sabbath School council includes all superintendents, division leaders, youth and adult class teachers, elder in charge of Sabbath School and Pastor when need arises.
It is the responsibility of the Sabbath school superintendent to call a Sabbath School council meeting a least once per quarter, to access progress, concern, problems, development and growth. The Sabbath School contains seven divisions:-
- Cradle Roll
- Junior/Earl teen
The role of Sabbath School Superintendents is a challenging one, which has been made easier by a strong and committed Sabbath School Council, dedicated teachers and faithful members. I also feel very humbled and honored to serve as one of the Sabbath School’s Leader.
As the Sabbath School looks to the future we cannot forget our past. The Sabbath School has a proud history which can be credited to strong and innovative past leaders. The legacy can only serve to strengthen the school and council members will certainly draw on the strength of the past to enhance the present and future of the Sabbath School.
The goal of the Sabbath School is two-fold. They include improving attendance and the number of visitors each Sabbath morning. To accomplish this we are depending on the faithfulness of our members. We also would like to encourage their faithfulness by implementing a few programs that will serve to motivate spiritual growth. It is our firm believes that since Christ’s coming is not only evident but imminent the Sabbath School must awaken to its great purpose and truly become the heart of the Church.
It is my firm belief that a united Sabbath School can only make for a stronger Sabbath School. The fellowship lunches kindled the fire of unity among our members and sparked an improvement in our attendance. I hope that our members will take this opportunity to develop new friendships and strengthen old ones.
The study of God’s word must be given the greatest attention in our Sabbath School. No one knows this more than our teachers who have through the years done a magnificent job.
The work of the Sabbath School must not end with our church but we must also reach out to the community. Our community guest day is an innovative creative way of sharing our faith with those around us. In our quest to go farther and do more, we believe that with God all things are possible. As Sabbath School members let us go farther, reach more, exceed all goals and expectations, fulfill the gospel commission and be ready when Jesus comes.
